APMG is the certification body

APMG is the certification body for the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner schemes. This means that APMG can provide the generic materials and information but accredits a variety of training organisations who deliver the training directly to candidates. APMG has offices or representatives in 11 countries, the examinations are available in 7 languages and there are approved training providers in 30 countries. Exact pricing, language, location and training materials will vary between providers.

How the certification scheme works

Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK^TM) as the basis

APMG Change Management certifications are based on the Effective Change Manager – the Change Management Body of Knowledge, 2nd ed. (CMBoK^TM) developed by the Change Management Institute. The CMBoK^TM provides a framework for understanding the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for effective change management. Both certifications are designed to confirm that individuals have the necessary knowledge and understanding of change management principles and practices.

Qualifications offered at two levels

Purpose

• Foundation: Confirm that candidates have sufficient knowledge and understanding of Change Management to work as informed members of a team on an organisational change initiative.
  
  
• Practitioner: Designed to confirm whether candidates have achieved sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor Change Management guidance in an organisational change situation.

Prerequisites

• Foundation: Requires a working knowledge of the key principles of change management, including terminology and some theory behind the practice.
  
  
• Practitioner: Foundation level examination must be passed for Practitioner.
